We gently correct skin redness, flakiness, temporary blemishes, and uneven tones while preserving the baby’s natural texture and softness. Distractions in the background, wrinkles in fabrics, or lighting inconsistencies are carefully refined by hand, ensuring every photo remains clean, calm, and timeless.

Applied Techniques

Newborn retouching requires a delicate balance between technical precision and subtlety. Our editing process focuses on enhancing the image while preserving the natural softness and innocence of the newborn subject.

Key techniques include:

  • Skin Cleanup: Manual removal of temporary blemishes such as baby acne, dry or flaky skin, scratches, and redness using non-destructive tools in Photoshop.

  • Color Correction: Neutralizing skin tones to reduce blotchiness or yellow/blue color casts often caused by natural or mixed lighting.

  • Texture Preservation: Use of Frequency Separation to smooth out skin while retaining natural texture—avoiding an overly plastic or retouched look.

  • Background Refinement: Cleaning up fabrics, props, or distracting elements around the baby. We correct creases, uneven backdrops, or harsh shadows while maintaining the soft focus aesthetic typical of newborn photography.

  • Tone & Contrast Adjustment: Enhancing highlights and shadows to achieve a clean, airy, or moody look—based on the photographer’s style and lighting setup.

  • Sharpening & Highlight Detailing: Selective sharpening on key features (eyes, lips, hairline) to bring subtle definition without overwhelming the softness of the subject.

We can’t trade a growing brand name for commercial use for dirty profits. We pledge to you and all of our clients that we will not use the images without permission. As for the valuable photos, we will ask the client’s permission before posting them elsewhere. Half of the pictures on our website are accessible online. We’ve downloaded and retouched them using our skills. The rest are asking for permission from customers and their models to be published.

The quality won’t go down after the first test

With my long-term working experience as an employee, I understand that large studios all have a common drawback: they are all sloppy when the company’s size is too large. They cannot control their customers’ quality as carefully as companies with few employees and new entrants like us.
